THACO INDUSTRIES INVESTS IN VIETNAM’S MOST ADVANCED PASSENGER CAR GLASS PRODUCTION LINE

Building on over 10 years of experience in manufacturing glass for trucks and buses, THACO INDUSTRIES has officially launched its Premium Automotive Glass Plant with an annual capacity of up to 450,000 sets, featuring the most advanced passenger car glass production line in Vietnam. Thus, the plant expands the product range, increasing the localization rate, and reducing reliance on imported components for Vietnam’s automotive industry.

The passenger car glass production line produces a variety of glass types, including windshields, back glass, front-door glass, and rear-door glass, using highly automated machinery and advanced technologies imported from Italy, Germany, and Japan.

In the pre-processing stage, the plant employs an automated cutting-grinding-drilling line that feeds raw materials into sequential processing steps: cutting, breaking, grinding, drilling, and washing. This system integrates an automated logo printing machine and inspection equipment that detects and removes defective products in real time during production. Additionally, the passenger car glass production line is equipped with 2D and 3D glass tempering furnaces utilizing convection heating technology, allowing for the creation of complex glass shapes tailored to customer requirements while ensuring durability and compliance with allowable standards. For windshields, the plant has invested in an external press bending line to enhance precision and production efficiency, along with a laminated glass film room and vacuum chamber, ensuring superior and consistent quality across all products.

Beyond passenger car glass, the plant supplies a wide range of glass products for trucks and buses, including windshields, door glass, back glass, and side glass. All products meet Vietnam’s National Technical Regulations on Automotive Safety Glass, European ECE standards, and other customer-specific requirements, and are trusted by major automotive brands in Vietnam, including Kia, Hyundai, Thaco Bus, Thaco Truck, etc.

Currently, the plant focuses on manufacturing and supplying products to domestic automotive manufacturers and the aftermarket. Simultaneously, it is advancing new product research and development, strengthening partnerships, and expanding exports to key global markets. Through these efforts, THACO INDUSTRIES aims to become Vietnam’s leading OEM automotive glass manufacturer and integrate more deeply into the global supply chain.
