THACO INDUSTRIES Joins The OEM Components Supply Chain in The Plastic Industry

The plastic industry plays a vital role in both production and daily consumption. In Vietnam, it is one of the ten priority industries for national development, growing at a rate of more than 10% per year.

Today, plastic products are increasingly replacing traditional materials across key sectors such as automotive and motorbike parts, electronics, and household appliances.

Recognizing this trend, THACO INDUSTRIES is committed to supplying high-tech, environmentally friendly OEM plastic components for a wide range of industries, aiming to become a trusted partner for both domestic and international enterprises.

Aiming to Become The Leading OEM Components Supplier in Vietnam

In 2017, THACO INDUSTRIES established its Plastic Components Manufacturing Factory to support THACO’s localization strategy while also meeting the growing demands of domestic and export markets. Since its launch, the factory has consistently invested in advanced technology, modern machinery, and skilled personnel. Today, it spans more than 40,000 m² and has an annual production capacity of 12 million products.

To achieve its goal of becoming a leading OEM manufacturer in Vietnam’s plastics industry, THACO INDUSTRIES prioritizes the development of high-quality products. This focus not only creates differentiation but also enhances competitiveness in both domestic and international markets.

THACO INDUSTRIES has invested heavily in advanced technologies to ensure precision and efficiency in plastic production. Key capabilities include:

  • Plastic injection molding: 15 injection machines with pressing forces ranging from 35 to 3,200 tons, equipped with automatic drying and feeding systems.
  • Plastic extrusion systems: Wall extrusion, strip extrusion, and HIPS extrusion.
  • Plastic blowing: Machines capable of producing plastic cans (10L–30L) and automotive components such as passenger car wind vanes.

At the painting stage, the factory is equipped with a robotic painting system and an automatic paint feeding system, designed to meet the strict color standards of global automotive brands including Kia, Mazda, Peugeot, and BMW.

At THACO INDUSTRIES, quality is strictly managed at every stage—from input materials to finished products. The company’s processes comply with:

  • ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System)
  • IATF 16949:2016 (Automotive Quality Management)
  • ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management System)

In addition, all products meet international regulations such as REACH (chemical safety management) and RoHS (restriction of hazardous substances).

With continuous investment in technology and a focus on excellence, THACO INDUSTRIES manufactures hundreds of high-tech plastic products across sectors including automotive, motorbikes, electronics, industrial, civil, and agriculture.

Automotive plastic components are a particular strength, thanks to the company’s ability to produce diverse, high-volume parts that meet the strict global standards of the automotive industry.

THACO INDUSTRIES supplies nearly 110,000 plastic components each year to THACO AUTO’s automobile assembly plants, which produce well-known brands such as Kia, Mazda, Peugeot, and THACO Luxury Cars. This contribution plays a key role in increasing the localization rate of vehicles manufactured in Vietnam.

Beyond the domestic market, the company also exports a wide range of products—including plastic pallets, tanks, ventilation panels, decorative pillar panels, and coolers—to demanding markets such as Japan, the United States, Australia, Canada, and Malaysia.

THACO INDUSTRIES is committed to becoming a leading OEM supplier for both domestic and foreign-invested enterprises. Alongside promoting exports, the company continues to reinforce its position in the global plastic components supply chain.

To enhance competitiveness, THACO INDUSTRIES invests heavily in research and development (R&D). This includes:

  • Advanced training for R&D engineers in design analysis and product development.
  • Research into new, sustainable materials.
  • Application of modern design software to keep pace with industry trends.

Strategic investment in new technologies such as hot stamping, insert molding, and 2K molding to diversify its product range and meet evolving market demands.

Green and Sustainable Development

According to Vietnam’s plastic industry development plan (approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade), the sector is expected to achieve sustainable growth, deliver high-quality and diverse products, and remain globally competitive while becoming more environmentally friendly. However, the industry also faces major challenges, particularly environmental concerns.

With sustainability as a core goal, THACO INDUSTRIES integrates a variety of green solutions into its operations. The company promotes the use of recycled and eco-friendly materials and invests in upgrading its machinery and equipment. By adopting advanced technologies, THACO INDUSTRIES creates high-value products that meet strict technical requirements while minimizing environmental impact.
