THACO INDUSTRIES inaugurated auto parts manufacturing factories and R&D center

On February 3, 2025, THACO INDUSTRIES held an inauguration ceremony for large-scale, modern automotive parts manufacturing plants and an R&D Center across a total area of 8 hectares, with an investment of over USD 110 million.

The THACO INDUSTRIES R&D Center covers 30,000 m² and includes: a Design Center; a Materials Laboratory and Product Testing Center; a Prototype Workshop; and a multipurpose hall, with a total investment of nearly USD 40 million. The center is equipped with advanced laboratory and testing systems such as metallographic analysis equipment, light transmittance testers, color uniformity measurement on plastic substrates, CMM measuring systems, and state-of-the-art design and simulation software. Together with a team of more than 1,000 experienced experts and engineers, the center executes product development strategies to meet the needs of THACO member corporations, domestic partners, and export markets.

The Automotive Chassis & Body Parts Company occupies 15,000 m² with a total investment of USD 30 million. It features modern equipment and production lines such as a tandem press line composed of four presses (one 1,600-ton press, one 1,000-ton press, and two 800-ton presses), together with an automatic blank-feeding robot system, 3D laser cutting machines, welding robots, profile-pressing robots, and stamping presses ranging from 50 to 1,000 tons. The plant has an annual capacity of 50,000 stamped truck-cabin component sets, 5,000 bus sets, 200,000 passenger-car body sets, and 500,000 other stamped mechanical component sets. It also includes stamping equipment for chassis frames for light to heavy trucks and tractors with a 6,300-ton press force, along with chassis welding and assembly lines with a capacity of 50,000 sets per year.

The Premium Automotive Glass Manufacturing Company covers 15,000 m² with a total investment of USD 25 million. The passenger-car glass workshop has an annual capacity of 300,000 sets, including door glass, back glass, and windshields. It applies entirely new technology using 3D tempering furnaces, high-precision mold forming, and fully automated cutting–grinding–drilling, screen printing, and lamination processes to meet the quality standards of international automotive brands. The plant also includes a workshop for truck and bus glass with a capacity of 150,000 sets per year.

The Automotive Electrical Equipment Manufacturing Company spans 20,000 m² with a total investment of USD 20 million. It has an annual capacity of 150,000 wiring harness sets and 50,000 sets of components and electronic devices for passenger vehicles. The plant is equipped with integrated, multifunctional lines and machinery for automatic cutting, crimping, and stripping, along with dedicated assembly conveyors and quality control systems compliant with international standards, aiming for zero-defect products while meeting output and export requirements.

The commissioning of these automotive parts manufacturing plants, together with the new R&D Center and the Mechanical Engineering Center, will form a regional-scale hub for automotive components. It affirms THACO INDUSTRIES’ pioneering role in advancing mechanical engineering and supporting industries in Vietnam and in deeper participation in the global value chain.
