Thaco Trailers participates in the IANA 2024 exhibition in the United States

As a member of the Intermodal Association of North America (IANA), Thaco Trailers (under THACO INDUSTRIES) – Vietnam’s leading semi-trailer manufacturer – recently participated in the IANA Intermodal EXPO 2024. At the exhibition, Thaco Trailers showcased high-quality semi-trailers with specialized configurations and conveyed the message “Vietnam Origin – America Standards”.

Delivering Efficient Transportation Solutions

IANA Intermodal EXPO 2024 took place at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center in California, USA, from September 9–11, attracting more than 2,000 businesses, experts, and visitors – primarily trucking companies, rail operators, ocean carriers, ports, technology providers, equipment manufacturers, and logistics service companies (warehouse and yard leasing, ship, and aircraft transportation).

As a reputable annual event for the North American intermodal transport industry, IANA 2024 featured more than 120 exhibition booths presenting advanced products, technologies, transportation solutions, and logistics services. It also included conferences and thematic sessions focused on intermodal transportation.

Under the theme “Vietnam Origin – America Standards” (Vietnamese origin – U.S. standards), Thaco Trailers brought semi-trailer products for the North American market to the exhibition, including: skeletal chassis semi-trailers (53’ Gooseneck Slider Tandem, 40’/45’ Extendable Tandem, 20’/40’ Combo Tridem, 20’/40’ City Combo Tandem) and specialized trailers (Dolly Tandem). These products offer outstanding performance and meet North American export standards (DOT, AAR, ANSI, TOFC, F(C)MVSS, SAE, TTMA…), matching market demand and receiving strong customer feedback for their light tare weight, high durability, flexible configuration design, optimized payload capacity, powerful and stable operation, and reduced operating costs.

Along with displaying and introducing its products, Thaco Trailers also attended industry seminars to connect and seek partners for OEM manufacturing cooperation or semi-trailer distribution in the North American market.

An Opportunity to Accelerate Exports to the North American Market

North America is the world’s second-largest semi-trailer market, accounting for 28.7% of global capacity (second only to Asia-Pacific). According to FTR – Transportation Intelligence, semi-trailer production in North America declined in 2024 due to economic impacts. However, the market is expected to gradually recover in 2025, with U.S. semi-trailer production projected to increase by 12% compared to 2024. By 2026, order demand is expected to continue rising, with semi-trailer production estimated to increase by 7% compared to 2025. Demand for imports of semi-trailers and semi-trailer components is also forecast to grow.

Keeping pace with the rapidly growing intermodal transport trend in North America, Thaco Trailers has been making ongoing efforts to research, manufacture, and supply a diverse range of products with specialized configurations, including standard skeletal chassis semi-trailers, extendable skeletal chassis semi-trailers, slider-beam skeletal chassis semi-trailers, specialized semi-trailers, and semi-trailer components—delivering efficient and flexible transportation solutions that meet customer needs.
